Happy Hippos

Happylicious Hippo

This is my first time using 4 ply Yarn, and i must admit, I really enjoyed using it.
As you all know, I spend a lot of my time, splitting Patons DK Smoothie Yarn, purely because I like using the 4 strands it produces.
I find using my favourite crochet hook size 1.75mm with my 4 strands, make my finished projects soft and smooth, and of course my animals end up a gorgeous size.

I finished my hippo of, with a Blue rope affect scarf, for those winter nights ahead.

WOLF C2C Crochet

Corner to Corner
Crocheted
WOLF

For this project, I used :
Black, Grey, White & Red, MARRINER YARNS.
I also used : a 4.00 mm Crochet Hook.

It measures : 23" wide by 33" Tall.

I'm so happy how this one turned out.
It was a lot more fiddly, juggling all the yarns around.

But so worth it.

I finished of, crocheting,  Single crochet in Black, through every stitch.
Then
I singled crochet 3 rounds in Red.
Finished of with HALF DOUBLE CROCHET.
&
Slipped stitch on the 3rd row of single crochets, with Black.

You know where you can find me.....

Stag Head

 Corner to Corner
Crocheted
STAG HEAD

I saw this lovely image in Pinterest, when I was looking for a graph or pattern, for my next project.
I found the graph, but know pattern, so I decided to create my own !!!
Once I had written out the corner to corner instructions, I began.

I used two colours, Black & Grey, both were by Marriner Yarns
I love there array of colours, but this particular project, just needed 2 Pacific shades.
And a 4.0 mm crochet hook.

This yarn works up beautifully.

I finished of by doing, 3 rounds of Single crochet.
And
Half Double Crochet, in every stitch around.
I also slipped stitched, in the second single crocheted row, with black yarn.
I think this frames the Stags head quite well.

It Measures : 17" wide x 28" Tall.

Bear c2c

Bears
Corner to Corner
Crocheting

Oh my, what can I say about this pattern.
I originally started learning the corner to corner technique, when I made my striped blankie.
Then I saw this free pattern by : Sarah-zimmerman
Her pattern is so well written and not only does she have a graph, but she also has a pattern. So if you prefer reading a pattern, she caters for both.
This her link to her beautiful patterns : Bernat Bear.

So as you can see....... I got hooked really quickly !!
This pattern is amazingly fun to do.
This was the first one I made.....

Followed by : Blue

And Yellow

Last but by know means last....!!!!
I made this one, with a little Extra cuteness.
A Heart πŸ’—

I finished each one by, Single Crocheting, 3 times around each stitch.
Then ending with Half Double Crochet to finish of the Edginging.
I also used the same colour of yarn, I used to make the Bear, and simply slipped stitch into the middle row, all the way around.
I think this gives a lovely finish.

✂️
Each one Measures : 14 1/2" wide by 18" Tall.
I used Marriner Yarn
&
4.00 mm Crochet Hook.

✂️

Highly recommend this pattern

Unicorn Pony

 Hi my fellow crafters, πŸ˜€
I hope you've all had a fantastic week, and looking forward, to the WeekEnd !!! I hope the weather shines brightly for you all. πŸ€— ☀️ 🌼

This week I've been busy, making a Unicorn Pony πŸ’•πŸ¦„πŸ’•for a client.
It's been a while, since I've actually made one of Heidi Bears creations.
But I must admit, I've had a lot of fun, making all the individual motifs, which forms the body of this glorious pony.

I used my trusted 1:75m hook, which feels a bit like Sweeney Todd did, when his arm was complete...!!! Haha
I also used my all time favourite yarn, which is Patons DK Smoothie yarn, all purchased at HobbyCraft.

I truly hope she will be loved and adored, for years to come.

Again you can find me here, or in the usual places below.

New Technique Learned

Tuesday 4th April, 2017
Corner 2 Corner

Good Morning my fellow crafters...... πŸ€—πŸ’™πŸ˜

On Sunday Evening, I was scrolling through the many sites for crocheting ideas, when I found some beautiful designs for a Throw, or cushion covers or even a babies blanket.
The Technique is called Corner2Corner.

Now I've seen this style before, but I've never attempted to have a go. I've always talked myself out of even trying to have a crack at it. I thought it was to difficult. πŸ€”

So any ways, this is what I decided to do, I watched two YouTube videos, one on how to start, and how to increase, and one on how to decrease.
I was quite surprised how easy it looked. !! πŸ€”

And After showing my hubby, what my new idea was, and asking him, for his opinion, he showed me the normal Nodd of the head, in approval...haha......

I woke up bright and early, the following day, and decided to try something New ..........
But I didn't want to get carried away, with a tricky pattern. And I still needed to master this different technique.
Now corner2corner, means exactly what it says on the package....haha. You work from corner to corner !!!

I thought I would just start with white and see how I went on. Before I knew it, I've added a colour, stripes would work quite well, I thought, and it would give me a chance to learn how to change colours in between rows.
I completed this little baby throw, which measures 21"x 21" inches, square, in just one day, I might add a border, but I'm not sure yet !!
What do you think ?

I'm now looking at making another one, but this time, I will be adding a image............whose getting brave now !!!!

Thank you for liking my works, and sticking with me. πŸ€—πŸ˜

As usual you know where to find me........
