Do you want to make a Snow woman /Man

Materials Needed :
CardBoard ~ for circles...
Two large circles, = (body).
Two Smaller circles, = ( head
White yarn ~ for head and body.
A pair of Scissors.
Remember you will need to make a body and a head.

Method :

1
Cut two cardboard circles. Cut a small round hole in the middle of each circle .
Lay the circles together, without any overlap. Remember, the bigger the circles, the bigger your pom pom will be (and visa versa).

2
Wind the circles closely with yarn.
  • Wrap the first round reasonably tightly around the circles and quickly hold in place with the next round (hold with your fingers until it is secure).
  • Continue to wind the yarn around and around the circles, keeping the winding even and not leaving gaps.
  • If using delicate materials such as silk or cotton for an embroidery project, place the thread on a needle and work the thread around using the needle. If you are using wool or another heavy yarn, simply wind using your hands, as it is likely the ring will be wide enough for you to get fingers through.
3
Continue until the circles are covered completely.
Put the scissors in between the two circles of cardboard and cut open the wound thread or yarn around the outer edge.

4
Draw a long piece of thread between the two circles.
Tie and knot it firmly around the stitches that meet in the center hole.
  • Leave sufficiently long ends of thread hanging . So you can sew the two Pom Poms together.
  • make sure you have Two Different size Pom Poms..... ( Head & Body ).

5
Cut and pull out the cardboard once the stitches have been knotted together.
6
Snip the thread with scissors until it becomes quite fluffy and the ball is perfectly round.
7
Finished....

Snow Woman Or Snow Mans Face

I used small fluffy balls, which i glued on.

HAT AND SCARF
To make the Hat, I used a FLOWER LOOM:( you can make or buy this at any craft shop/store, there not expensive). If you would prefer to make one, let me know and i'll post method later.
Or Design your own. .......have fun with it.

To make the scarf, i knitted using Moss Stitch, but you could make it using your own preference.

Monday 22 December 2014

Today I started a blog.

Wow.......

I Finally found a proper place, that not only helps me with all the jargon, but actually it's quite easy to understand. (Google Blogger ).

Today is Monday 22nd of December 2014
The real reasons for me to start this blog was, so that I could share my love of not only craft but what makes me happy...

I have joined the most perfect sites ever these Are : Ravelry.com and Pinterest.com
These sites give you everything you could possibly think of , craft ideas, cooking ideas, wood work. You name it these two sites are truly amazing. So please come along and say hello....

on Ravelry.com I found the most perfect designer: Heidibears, also you can find her blog to which is :
Heidibears: http://Heidibearscreative.blogspot.com

These are some of my Creations I've made using Heidibears patterns.

This is Max The African Flower BullDog.

All of Heidi's pattern use African Flower Motifs.

On her page she will show you how to make them...... Also she gives you tutorials on how to join as you go..(jayg). All her patterns are extremely well illustrated and laid out well.
You can not find an easier or more brilliant place for these beautiful patterns.

As you can see I got very carried away with making these brilliant BullDogs..
You can actually see the size of the puppies by my next photo.

Each puppy was made using a 1.00mm crochet hook.
I used 4ply White yarn, that I split so I could use just I strand.
The brown (rust colour) was 100% cotton, again split into just one strand.
I will admit, it was quite fiddly to do, specially as the cotton was prone to snap if pulled to hard.

I am truly running before I can walk.....
My first ever pattern I brought from Heidibears was Lollobear, I saw this on Ravelry.com and I had to have it..!!! There was one major problem..... I couldn't Crochet.!!!  :-(

So what did I do??
You Tube....hahaha... Brilliant place, I started watching videos about holding your hooks, I watched videos about using the right hook sizes. I watched everything you could think of about learning to Crochet. But could I hold the hook ?... NO I couldn't.

I never knew crochet hooks could fly so well..hahaha, I even hid them out of frustration, all I could think of was the Lollobear i wanted to make..

Then in May, I picked up a hook again..hahaha  ( ready for disaster ) but to my amazement I started to crochet a chain of stitches... They weren't perfect but it was a start.

To cut a long story short , Eight Months on :  I'm making lots and lots of amazing animals.
I truly think " Why didn't I try this sooner " .

I hoping to blog every day.. But Christmas is so upon us, so I might find it difficult to find the time.

Wishing you all a very merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. Xx

So please, don't be shy, leave me your comments...
